Sunday 16th August, 10th Sunday after Trinity

Dear friends,

Welcome to this week's newsletter. May the Lord bless you, especially in this coming week.

It says in Mathew's Gospel "Then Jesus said to her, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed at that moment." Matthew Ch15 v28. Today is the 10th Sunday after Trinity, and our theme is "The Faith of the Canaanite Woman". Jonny will be reflecting on this Biblical passage.

This week, at the 10am and 11am services, we will enjoy Megan and James singing and playing to us. The final two Sundays in August will be communion services. It is planned, from September, to continue the services at the Priory and also to return to online services. We will hope to have two communions in the Priory per month, on the second and fourth Sundays.

As you are aware, the services we are offering at the Priory are 'a work in progress.' We have considered the current timings and we feel, to allow some limited musical input and the communion liturgy, we need to move the first service to 9.30 am. So, next Sunday the Communion Service will be at 9.30am and 11.00am.

In September Rita and I will fly to the Azores for a holiday to celebrate our Ruby Wedding anniversary, which is actually in October. Unfortunately, when we return we will have to quarantine for 14 days. We tried to postpone this holiday but we have been unable to do so. A consequence of this is that Rita and I will be in quarantine when Jonny is Priested. We are very upset about this because we would have loved to be there to celebrate. More information about the Ordination will follow in subsequent weeks.

The barrier tape has been replaced at the Priory, and the new rope looks much better. We are very grateful to the donor. Thank you so much.

Rita and I are thankful for all the love and support we have received from Priory members during our grandson Reuben's recent illness. Reuben, and his parents, Emma and Simon are home and Reuben is recovering well.

I hope you have had a good week, and manage to stay cool, despite the heat and thunderstorms.

Every blessing,

Rod
