Dear friends,

Welcome! We hope you are feeling fit and well, and we pray for those suffering from coronavirus. May this pandemic pass over quickly.

Unfortunately, we have had to close the Priory to stop the spread of infection, so we have moved services on-line (see the “Online Worship” link in the top menu). Here you will find a service for the week. Last week’s Mothering Sunday Service was produced by Katherine Little and David Webster and was enjoyed by many. This week, Chris Boulton will lead. A talk from me will be included as well as intercessions from David Guy.

We are encouraging our regular church groups to meet using conferencing software like Zoom or Houseparty. They are both really good. All you require is access to a webcam (most tablets and laptops have them built-in). Why not consider linking up with your friends and family this way too, if you can?

If you would like to join me for Morning Prayer at 9.00 am each day via Zoom, just drop me an email and I’ll send you an invitation. Morning Prayer can be found via an app on a smartphone.

Rita Corke writes: May we give prayers of thanksgiving for all those in our church family and community who are reaching out to help their neighbours. We pray too that more volunteers will come forward to offer to help with shopping needs.

If you can help with shopping, please contact us by email.

Sunday’s Gospel reading is John 11 and the story of the raising of Lazarus. This is the last of Jesus’ signs recorded in John’s Gospel and points us to the cross. Passiontide begins today and is picked up in this week’s collect:

Gracious Father,
You gave up your Son
Out of love for the world:
Lead us to ponder the mysteries of your passion,
That we may know eternal peace
Though the shedding of our Saviour’s blood,
Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Do try to join in worship on Sunday and keep in touch!

Bless you,

Rod
