Sunday 6th September, 13th Sunday after Trinity

Dear friends,

Welcome to this week's newsletter. We meet online or in the Priory in the name of Jesus, our Saviour and Lord.

In today's gospel reading Jesus said: 'For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.' Today is the 13thSunday after Trinity and our theme is "Meeting with Jesus". Chris will be reflecting on this Biblical passage.

The Covid situation has caused many events to be cancelled and our Church APCM, which normally takes place in April, has been postponed. We have agreed a new date of Thursday 22ndOctober 2020 at 7.30pm via Zoom. More details will follow but we will be asking folk to consider serving on the PCC. The Priory Plan is progressing and this is an exciting time to consider serving your church. Why not pray about whether God is calling you to stand. The PCC Away Day , which normally follows the APCM, will not happen this year.  More details about this will follow.

More changes are afoot with The Friends of Great Malvern Priory. Peter Chappell has stepped down as Chair. We have been so grateful to Peter for helping to build positive links between The Friends and the Priory. He has been a calm, wise and prayerful leader at the helm and we thank him for all he has done. The Trustees have been consulted and Anne Eglington has become acting Chair until the Friends' annual meeting.

If you have tried to get a ticket for our Sunday services and it has been fully booked, do try again. We now feel confident enough to increase the capacity and use the children's area for socially distanced seating. Also, our services are now back online. The intercessions, readings and sermon are usually the same, at the Priory or on the web.

I have appointed Gilly Maxim as our new Prayer Co-ordinator. Elizabeth Dunnett has been excellent in this role and we thank her for all she has done. Elizabeth will continue to promote prayer at the Priory. However, she has kindly stepped aside to allow Gilly to take on a wider, overarching brief. Gilly will look at the intercessions in the services, the time for prayers for healing after the morning service, the Prayer Vine, Fellowship, Worship and Prayer, and other areas of prayer focus in our worshipping community. Gilly will revisit and update some principles of good practice in praying, for us to discuss together in small groups. Prayer is so important to the life of our church.

Rita and I are now taking a break but we will be back to take part in Jonny's ordination on the 27thSeptember. Please pray for Jonny and Katie as they prepare for this.

Every blessing,

Prayer Vine If you would like a prayer request to be put on the Priory Prayer Vine, please email it or telephone 07977 444864.
