’An announcement from the Bishop
The Acting Bishop of Worcester is pleased to announce the appointment of The Reverend Roger Latham as the Vicar of Great Malvern, St Mary and St Michael (The Priory).
Roger is currently Director of Mission and Ministry in our diocese. He is married to Rachel, who is a member of the senior leadership group for Occupational Therapy services in the Worcester Acute NHS Trust. They have two grown-up children.
A date for Roger’s licensing will be confirmed shortly.
Please remember Roger and Rachel in your prayers as they prepare to move’
And each congregation was led in prayer.
Roger and Rachel have been worshipping at the Priory for over a year - they’ve worshipped through the experience of the new nave floor, and Roger has been helping on the clergy rota since Rod retired. His sermon at the Priory Patronal Festival at Michaelmas was much appreciated.
So at coffee time after the 10.30 service, it was congratulations from all.
And the discovery? Chris used a ‘Where’s Wally?’ book to illustrate the children’s talk for Bible Sunday, to show how the Old Testament points to ‘Where’s Jesus’.
A really great idea. However… starting with the words ‘Where’s Wally?’ is a risky thing at the Priory when Rev and Mrs Whalley (with an ‘h’ and an ‘e’) are sitting a few rows in front of you. ‘He’s here!’ came a voice from the congregation. Everyone laughed. So now we know.
Roger and Rachel are in our prayers.
