Lifepath

Once a year, in June, Malvern Priory goes back in time…

…to 1085, when a monk called Aldwyn founded the Priory on the slopes of the Malvern Hills.

We welcome over 600 children from local schools to discover more about the history of the Priory and the life of the monks who worshipped and lived there.

From cooking, to brass rubbing, mediaeval medicine (leeches - yuck!), to bell-ringing, spinning, the prayer journey and much more, a range of activities brings history to life.

Then everyone joins together for the songs and the Lifepath play - watch out for the vicar’s acting!

Lifepath 2024 will run from 24th - 28th June.

Suitable for children in KS2; if your school would like to take part please email the Priory on lifepath.malvern.2024@gmail.com and we’ll be in touch as soon as booking opens. If your school’s been to Lifepath before, we’ll be in contact in January.

’This was honestly the easiest school trip I have ever had the pleasure of running. All aspects of the day were so well thought out and the whole team so helpful. I didn’t have to worry about anything’ (teacher)

There’s a video that gives you a flavour of Lifepath here. But it’s so much better to be there!

If you’d like to join the merry band of volunteers, click here.

From teaching to chair-shifting to prayer-support, from teenage to 90+, from experienced children’s worker to complete novice (excuse the pun), from introvert to extrovert, there’s a volunteer role for you at Lifepath.

Don’t worry - if you’re new, you’ll be paired with someone who knows the ropes.

Join in and experience the enthusiasm and joy of Lifepath.

Please note: all voluntary and paid roles at Great Malvern Priory are subject to safer recruitment process and a DBS check if required.
