God’s Creation…

…is our environment

And there’s never been a more important time to care for our precious planet.

The Environment Group is working to improve the Priory’s impact on Creation wherever possible…

  • Education - sharing discoveries, tips and hacks for greener living and exploring the Priory’s flora and fauna.

  • Working with the Council to encourage wild flowers in the churchyard. Now in summertime, Meadow Brown butterflies (Maniola jurtina) flit between the wild grasses and flowers, just feet from Malvern’s main street.

  • Taking part in a national survey of churchyard flora.

  • Creating a ‘bug hotel’ in the churchyard.

  • Joining the Queen’s Green Canopy by planting a silver birch (Betula pendula) in the churchyard.

  • Encouraging using Fairtrade products in church.

  • Working with the congregation to achieve a Silver Eco Church Award in October 2024.

  • Using local flowers in flower arrangements wherever possible.
