Lifepath
24th - 28th June 2024
If you’re visiting the Priory…
you’ll find it’s all a bit different this week.
For one week only, each year in June, the Priory returns to its Benedictine roots to bring its history and heritage alive for children in KS2 from local schools.
This week we’ll be welcoming over 600 children and their teachers for action-packed living history, from Mediaeval Medicine to Calligraphy, Mediaeval Codebreaking to Architecture, Monastery Kitchen to Bellringing, and the Prayer Journey that underlies it all…(and that’s just a taster)
So if it’s you that’s coming to Lifepath this week ‘Hi! Welcome’, we’re really looking forward to welcoming you to Great Malvern Priory.
And if you’re not a Lifepath-er, you’ll find the Priory rather different, with the chatter of groups of children learning from the volunteers, punctuated by bells and silence, songs and activities. Just before lunch there’s the Lifepath Play, written by the Vicar. This year the Parable of the Prodigal Son is brought to life by a group of enthusiastic amateur thespians. You’ll see audience participation during‘Agadoo’ and the now seemingly compulsory water pistols.
For everyone’s safety, photography is not permitted whilst the children are on site.
