Bellringers’ world
There’s more to bellringing than meets the ear!
The Priory bellringers see the Priory in a different light to non-campanologists. From the bright moonlight of the Hunters’ Moon supermoon, which greeted them at the end of their Thursday night practice, to the secrets of the Ringing Room.
One of the Priory joint Tower Captains shares news from the Priory Bellringers…
’Up to now, the bellringers have been making do with a grotty looking donations box, that was screwed together as a ‘temporary fix’ from horrible bits of melamine covered chipboard, and for years everyone has been saying we should have something better.
Well, now we have! This wonderful box was made by Ian Panton, Tower Captain at St Matthias’ Malvern Link and 'woodworker extraordinaire’. It’s made using some of the old oak floor joists out of the Priory Nave, plus a small section of former pew from St Matthias’.
We are sure that visitors to the tower ringing room will now be inspired to donate, if only to make use of such a glorious box!’
