Exuberance…Lifepath is GO
Bright eyes, waving arms, ringing bells, silence…(for a whole 30 seconds), Mediaeval stained glass-inspired toenails, a visiting Bishop and a light dousing from the water pistols in the play. Just a flavour of Day 1 of Lifepath 2023.
As the carefully constructed Norman arch of the Architecture activity collapsed to the squeals of dismay of its 9 and 10 year old architects, a Pilgrim Guide apologised to a couple visiting the Priory from South Wales who had happened upon Lifepath.
‘Not much peace here today, I’m afraid’ said the Pilgrim Guide.
’Oh no! It’s wonderful! So lovely to see a church full of children learning. I’m taking home so many ideas for my church’ beamed the lady.
Suitably braced, the arch stood firm, and the children, Guides and visitors all broke into spontaneous applause.
Volunteers and teachers were sustained by a continuous supply of hot drinks from the trusty Priory urn and its team of dedicated volunteers. And the dappled shade of the Glebe was a glorious place for packed lunches as children excitedly shared their experiences.
As the day drew to a close once the children had left, volunteers, weary but uplifted and satisfied, returned home to recharge for Lifepath Day 2.
So if you’re joining us tomorrow for Lifepath…see you soon!
