Reach new heights

Inspired by Rita’s Wing Walk? (see ‘A wing and a prayer’)

Want to reach new heights?

Then why not treat yourself to a tour of the Priory tower?

For one day only, this Saturday 1st April (no, this isn’t a joke), the door to the tower spiral staircase opens to all aged 8 or above for tours on the hour from 11am - 3pm inclusive.

It costs just £5 (£2.50 for children 8-16) to take in a unique view of Malvern and wonder at the construction of the spiral stair. Just how many steps are there?!

Don’t forget to look out for the historic graffiti as the staircase curls round the back of the organ and reaches the ceiling level of the south transept. Just marvel…where are those folk now…? No need to add your own; we provide a handy visitors’ book for the modern visitor!

As ever, opening the Priory Tower is weather dependent, for everyone’s safety, and we suggest you make sure you feel physically fit enough, too.

For non-tower climbers, we’re offering tea, coffee and cake at our Welcome Day at ground level and there’s plenty of history to enjoy there, too.
