Morning Prayer continues as scaffolding departs

Hard at work, removing the stained glass access scaffold early this morning at the Priory.

Peace wasn’t quite the word this morning, if the definition being used is ‘quiet’ (see Rod’s Children’s Talk last Sunday for further details).

Now the Mediaeval stained glass of the Creation Window is in the safe hands of the York Glaziers Trust, for conservation, the scaffold in St Anne’s Chapel was removed in double-quick time.

Metallic clanks accompanied the psalm and readings, and the scaffolders were especially remembered in the intercessions, as are all who visit this glorious building.

Sunlight now pours through the rather incongruous temporary plastic ‘panes’ into St Anne’s Chapel (see previous post).
