‘What a wonderful sound…

Come and Sing Evensong

…it’s an amazing choir’ said a passing visitor as the nearly 60-strong ‘Come and Sing’ choir rehearsed before Choral Evensong, under the expert guidance of Piers Maxim.

Singers from across Worcestershire and Herefordshire braved the freezing fog for the warm Priory welcome and the special glow of singing wonderful music in the Priory’s unique, sacred space. Tea, coffee and an amazing selection of cakes fortified them before the service.

Stanford’s setting of the Mag and Nunc in C echoed round the walls. ‘Glory be to the Father’ they sang, in unison. And it was glorious; choir and organ combined both to uplift and to bring peace to the appreciative congregation in Rutter’s ‘Gaelic Blessing’.
