Identity

As the gradual hymn ends at 10.30 Parish Communion, there’s movement…

Across the congregation and from the choir stalls, the young people of the Priory head off to their groups - ‘FROGS’ for the youngest and ‘Identity’ for the more mature. There, as the rest of the congregation hear the gospel and enjoy the sermon, they, too, learn more about the Bible and living as a Christian today.

But Identity is much more than just meeting on Sunday mornings twice a month. Recently some of the group enjoyed a treetop adventure at GoApe, fearlessly navigating at height as the accompanying adults took a more measured approach, let’s say.

And as the youngsters’ groups break up for the (long, hot) summer, there’s much to look forward to in the autumn. In early September, the Priory group will be joining other young Christians in Malvern, for a special event called ‘The Secret Church’. Described as ‘an exciting, fun, faith-strengthening evening’ the youngsters will get to experience what it might be like to be the persecuted church, meeting in secret.

All youngsters at high school or college are welcome to join Identity. Many members also sing as Junior Choristers in the Choir, where new members are very welcome, too.
